Deveon is losing his pants

So I was talking to Steph tonight and she said I don't tell enough stories on my blog and I do have many living with the mob that I live with...This was after I told her the naked man story (below) so now I'm thinking of all these funny potential posts...so here it goes...

Josh has Dalen and Deveon race all the time...he'll find two landmarks, (the two mailboxes in this case) and have them start in the middle and run opposite ways, touch the landmark and then race back to starting point...this way they don't push each other as they're running, prevents lots of tears...anyways...before they start the race, Josh tells Deveon "Deveon zip up your zipper" Deveon tries but whatever...mind you Deveon is wearing Dalen's hand me downs and they are all a little on the big side for him...so the race begins and we're watching Deveon run and he starts running funny...he's trying to keep his pants from slowly falling down, by the time he is on his way back, they are down past his cute little butt...we were trying not to laugh but it was so stinkin' hilarious...although Deveon did not think it was funny...Later that night I brought it up again and said "Deveon, member when you were running and your pants were falling?" He liked that...

Hurry, Hide Your Nakedness

So I was scrapbooking at Tami's the other night and Josh calls me at like 11:45pm to ask if I was coming home cause he was getting ready to leave for work...I was like OMGosh...totally lost track of time...he also asks me if I knew why there was a helicopter outside?...No but now I'm scared...Tami and I look outside and see it off in the distance, but it seems far...I do a ferenzic clean up of scrapbook stuff...throwing everything anywhere...I'm hurrying since Josh is leaving and now my kids are going to be home alone, Tami only lives a street over...but still...so as I'm driving down the street to turn onto the cross street that connects our streets, I see cop lights down at the end of the street that I'm on...I decide to go see what's up...I ask Mr. Cop, "should I be scared...?" Mr. Cop: "oh, no, just a report of a Naked Middle Eastern Man in the neighborhood" I say: "oh, okay..." I race home and shine the brights on my house to make sure no lurkies...phew...nothing...made sure noone was inside...scary...I don't know what happened...but I definitely saind my prayers and slept with Lexi that night...

Sunday Night...

Josh went to bed early tonight cause he 'opens' tomorrow and so it was just me and the niblets...as we were straightening up the downstairs so we could watch some favorite shows, Dalen put this paper bag on Noah's head...it was hilarious...
While the kids watched tv, I decided to make more hair pretties for Lexi's hair...they came out soooo cute...If anyone is interested in ordering some, Click here My Treasures for details...

Noah's 1st dirty look

I was feeding Noah the other night and could swear that he said 'More'...probably sounded more like: mmmmmmmo...so I tried a couple times to get him to say it while on camera...after like 6 video clips of trying to get him to say it again there was no happy ending:(...but I did get the dirtiest look from him in this last clip of tries...It is right at the end of the video clip...It's great...

I was updating my blog tonight and Lexi was in the office with me begging to listen to Hannah music...She started dancing and I got the cutest clips of her trying out her new moves...Sorry about the sideways shots of th clips...I don't know what I was doing...But there still cute...

Too cool for school

Deveon's last day of preschool...Friday July 18...(pictured below on 'Water Friday')...
For the past four months Deveon has been attending Country Academy Montessori...Grandma Miles helped out in this department and it was a wonderful experience for Deveon as well as for our transition to having Noah enter into the family...(Mommy needed some help) Thank you Grandma Miles...Deveon is now set even more than before for Kindergarten! He can't wait!

Deveon's first day of Kindergarten...Monday July 21st...(Picture collage below)...He loves everything about Kindergarten...His teacher, his new camo backpack, and Dalen picking him up from class at the end of the day...sooo cute...We are looking forward to seeing Deveon blossom over the next year! He is very smart and looking forward to the Max book reading program that he remembers Dalen doing this past year...

Dirty Little Secret

I received this book "I was a really good mom before I had kids" as a Christmas gift from my Sister in law, Shannon. It was a really funny book...so down to earth and hilarious and so true...My favorite part of the book was that every so often they would have these little footnotes of "Dirty Little Secrets" confessed by the moms that they had interviewed for the book...It is must read for all moms who try to do it all and do it all perfectly...just not a reality...Next news...I just found out from watching a rerun of The Rachael Ray Show that the authors published a second book, which is called "Dirty little secrets from otherwise perfect moms"...Can not wait to read it!...So, I thought it would be fun to share some of our own 'Dirty little secrets'...we all have them...I'll go first then you can comment one of yours!

My dirty little secret: I watch Hannah Montana with the kids and I like it! Lexi even has a 'hannah 'tana' chapstick that she is obsessed with...and Dalen has a crush on the girl...we even listen to her music in the car...

Our trip to Monterey, CA

We decided to go to Monterey, CA for the day...Forecast said triple digits for Sacramento, and Josh had Thursday and Friday off so off we went...Loved the beach and visited the fishies at Monterey Bay Aquarium...stayed in a cute lil hotel near it all...I think this could be a new tradition for the Miles Fam every July to beat the heat...

1. Dream Vacation
I have many, but right now...
A week (with Josh) on Waikiki beach in Oahu, Hawaii... We went here and stayed a couple days with Josh's family before our Hawaii cruise 2 years ago... but I would love to go back and spend more time on this beach...it was beautiful and it was the first Hawaiian beach I ever saw...(hint, hint honey ;)

My bedroom...we just hung curtains and now it stays cool and dark like a cave...we love watching tv in here...the kids love it too...it's our bonus room for now...and I love my bedroom set...

These are my favorite heels...favorite color purple...

These are my favorite casual shoes...I have them in two colors to always match what I'm wearing...(the kids thought I was nuts running around taking pictures of everything...they asked "are you taking pictures of all our chores?" ...they wanted to pose with my shoes...)

Our laundry room is still recovering from the fourth and our trip to Monterey so it's a little crazy in here...

Noah's baba time

We hope everyone had a wonderful fourth...we had some friends over and us moms took pics of the kids swimming and playing while the guys, including Dalen and Deveon played our new game on Wii, Mario Smash Bros. Braul...very fun apparently...they played the whole time and we had to peel them away when it was time to go see the fireworks...

8:30pm...next stop...Elk Grove Park...to see fireworks of course...we have been going her every year since we moved here, 3yrs...thee best show and it's free and everyone in Elk Grove is here...very fun and the kids have a blast...
